Journalists who would like to participate in the project Invitation Program of Korean Culture and Information Service(KOCIS) in 2024 with the Korean Cultural Center in Brazil are invited to submit their applications by Monday, February 5, 2024.

Invitation Program of KOCIS

The Korean Culture and Information Service (KOCIS) is a government agency affiliated with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Korea. It operates 35 Korean Cultural Centers in 30 countries and Seven Culture and Information Officers in 7 countries to promote Korea's culture and image to the world whilst striving to expand cultural exchange between countries.

KOCIS has selected influential journalists from major countries around the world to support their visits to, and coverage of, Korea in various fields, including politics, society, and culture.

The program operates on a seven-day schedule (including flight times) and provides round-trip airfares, accommodation, meals, translation services, and transportation within Korea. Moreover, during your stay in Korea, it offers invited journalists from around the world, as a group, a variety of experiences through field trips to tourist attractions and visits to major organizations, as well as the opportunity to participate in various interviews.

By participating in this program, you will be able to learn and experience Korea’s long, rich history and thriving culture, helping you to deliver fair and vivid reports with substantial content on Korea widely through the media.

□ Invitation and coverage support

ｏ (Scope of coverage)

△ Media broadcasters from newspapers and news agencies (print, internet), broadcasting (TV, internet), magazines, etc.

- (Broadcasting) General channels, genre channels, satellite/cable and online-only channels, etc.

- (Magazine) General daily newspapers and specialized magazines such as space and aviation, fashion, politics and finance, education, etc.

ｏ (Selection Criteria) Highly effective and influential media outlets and journalists

- (Media)

△ Interest in Korea;

△ Influence;

△ History of cooperation such as correcting misinformation and errors related to Korea;

△ Number of subscribers (viewers);

△ Scale of publication (airing)

* Around 2 people per media outlet

- (Journalists)

△ Established influential journalists, up-and-coming journalists who have the potential to grow into friendly journalists, and journalists who are consistently producing positive issues related to Korea as guests of honor.

* Priority will be given to those who can fulfill the interview schedule, have a good command of the common language, and have received a confirmation letter from the media.

ｏ (Invitation period) March ~ December, 2024 (excluding heat waves and typhoons)

- After confirmation of the invited media and journalists, individual consultation with the invitees on a schedule that can achieve the maximum publicity effect in conjunction with the reporting time and diplomatic schedule.

* Invitations will be made in groups or individually, depending on the relevance of the topic and the timing of the visit.

ｏ (Topics of coverage) Selection of various topics based on demand survey results and self-review

□ Support contents

ｏ Establishing a detailed coverage schedule, including coordinating sources and arranging interviews

ｏ Support for airfare (economy principle), room and board, travel insurance, etc.

- Private expenses such as cell phone (including roaming charges) and room phone charges are excluded.

ｏ Provision of convenience such as interpreters, entourage, transportation, etc.

□ Required

ｏ Obligation to report the contents of the interview (if selected, you will be required to submit a confirmation of future publication for the contents of the interview)

ｏ Share the article after local coverage

- print media: Original article (or link)

- Video media: Original report video (or link)

- In addition, if there are additional activities such as contributions, papers, interviews with other media, etc.

□ Future Schedule

ｏ Notification of the list of confirmed invited media (journalists) (on February 24)

- There is a possibility of changing the invitation plan (schedule, method, timing, etc.)

□ Application Method

ｏ Submit application by email (so.park@kccbrazil.com.br) until February 5, 2024 (Mon)

- Send application forms 1 & 2 as a Word file and form 3 (after signature) as a PDF file.
